2024 Conference Late Registration - May 27th - June 14th

We have had to wait four years for this and yes, the rumors are true, we are extremely excited that the 10th annual conference for SSMC is being held in Hawaii July 9-11, 2024.  The committee is working hard to finalize the conference and then post all the information on the website, our goal is to have registration open to everyone before the middle of November.  I would like to take this opportunity to share with you some information about the upcoming conference. 

·         The conference will be held at the Hawaii Convention Center in Honolulu.

·         The conference hotel is across the street at the Ala Moana hotel 

·         Arrangements are being made for the group to pay a visit to the University of Hawaii Manoa campus for tours.

·        On Tuesday evening July 9th, we will be hosting a Luau at Germaine’s Luau. Additional tickets for the Luau and transportation for family members or significant others can be purchased thru the SSMC website.

·         This conference will be 3 full days long, Tuesday thru Thursday.

·         The Friday after the conference we will be planning a group visit to Pearl Harbor.  We will use a local tour company for arrangements and this will include transportation.  The cost for this outing will be an expense separate of the conference fee.  More information to come on this.   

As you would expect the cost for the Hawaii conference is more expensive than in past conferences.  We have done our best to keep the cost of this conference less than last year.  Currently we anticipate the cost of registration of this year’s conference to be less than last year’s conference, we are still waiting on several quotes to set the price.  We have a block of rooms at the Ala Moana hotel for SSMC members.  Due to new protocols put into place after COVID, SSMC is responsible to book 80% of these rooms, if we do not achieve that, SSMC will have to cover the remaining cost.  There are two options for booking rooms at the hotel, the Kona Tower rooms are $239.00 per night, single/double occupancy, plus taxes, and the Waikiki Tower is $269.00 per night, single/double occupancy, plus taxes, descriptions of the rooms are below.  These prices are also available to you if you extend your stay 3 days before or after the conference dates.

All we need now is you, our SSMC members to attend the conference and make this 10th anniversary conference a success.  I would ask that you consider staying at the conference hotel, the prices are comparable to or less than other major hotels in the area, the convenience of the hotel location being across the street from the convention center makes it well worth it.  A plus is you will not have to navigate the very busy Waikiki traffic.
